Brevard, NC’s 2013 Halloweenfest

Ready for some exciting, fall fun in downtown Brevard? Each year local residents adorn the streets of the Transylvania business district with one of the grandest Halloween celebrations ever. This one-day event begins October 26, 2013 and ends with some traditional neighborhood trick or treating on October 31st. So, bring your family out and prepare yourself for some all day fun and memories that are sure to last a lifetime.

Brevard’s Halloweenfest 2013

Halloween Fest is an exciting, family festival tradition in Brevard. This year, the all day festival celebrates its 31st year in Transylavania County. This year’s festival includes many fun outdoor sports and activities suitable for every age group. Some of this year’s activities include costume contests, bouncing houses, and pumpkin rolls down Courthouse Hill. Each year the festival makes it a point to add an additional surprise factor to the celebration, such as last year’s flash mob dancing to Michael Jackson’s Thriller. So, be on guard for an exciting, scary twist to this year’s festivities!

Activities at Halloweenfest

This year’s festival hours are from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. and costs just $3 for admission. Family favorites included in this year’s venue include The Hunger Games block, Tailgate Market, Ghoulish Golf, Spooky Haze Maze, Bi-Lo Cookie Decoration, face and hair painting, kids inflatables, and Scarecrows on the Lawn. Other venues included are the Junior Fiddle Music Competition, Count Dracula Red Carpet Event, costume parade and judging, pumpkin carving contests, Stingy Jack Pumpkin Patch, Downtown Trick or Treat, Flight of The Vampire Run, and the Proper Pot Apple/Pumpkin Pie Bake off.
