Hendersonville, NC (December 10, 2017) – The Exit Realty office in Hendersonville announced today it will match donations totaling up to $12,500 to Henderson County Habitat to help a local family build a Habitat home in 2018.
“The entire team at Exit Realty is pleased to support Habitat which does so much to address the affordable housing crisis in Henderson County,” said Jason Jacques, President of Exit Realty in Henderson County. “After meeting with Habitat to see how we could make a significant impact, we decided to invite the community to participate. By getting more people involved, we can double our impact. We invite the good folks of Henderson County to make a difference this holiday season by contributing to this matching gift program. With everyone’s help, we’ll raise a total of $25,000, and that’s a significant impact.”

These donations will help us build another home for a local hard-working family in need of safe and affordable housing. Fifty percent of the county’s workforce cannot afford to live here. Unfortunately, we can’t build affordable houses fast enough to help everyone but these funds will allow us to build another one for a deserving family,” said Henderson County Habitat President & CEO, Ron Laughter.
Through the use of volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat homes are sold to the homeowners at no-profit with an interest-free mortgage and monthly payments set at less than 30% of the homeowner’s income, making homeownership an affordable reality. Habitat homeowners must qualify financially for the program; save toward their closing costs; attend a series of educational classes focusing on homeownership, budgeting and home maintenance; and complete 400 hours of “sweat equity” by volunteering at Habitat. Since 1989, Henderson County Habitat for Humanity has provided nearly 300 families a safe and affordable place to live.
