Sherwood Forest | A Picturesque Community Near Brevard
Located less than 10 miles from Brevard in Transylvania County is the residential community of Sherwood Forest. The community itself is comprised of 200 single family homes and condos but sits on 1,000 acres of forest.
Both the community and the golf course are members of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program. This certification means the community was built with the goal of conserving natural resources such as native plants, animals and other living organisisms. Also included in the certification is additional environmental education; throughout the year, the community sponsors lecutures on nature, a naturalist program and more.
The Sherwood Forest Home Owners Association owns and preserves several hundred acres of forest plus fives lakes, several streams and 15+ miles of hiking trails. In addition, a golf course, gardening area, tennis courts and swimming pool can be found in Sherwood Forest.
